DESIGN INSPIRATION

Sandy uses the environment as inspiration for her art quilt designs. She enjoys going to different places and sketching, then she develops the designs and turns them into wall hangings. She is often inspired by being in the mountains or going back to Massachusetts where she grew up; both have colors and textures different from the Mojave Desert where she lives in Nevada.

DISPLAYING YOUR ART QUILTS

Most of Sandy’s quilts come framed with glass. It takes the guessing out of how to display and gives most people a comfort level. Other non-framed pieces will have a rod pocket sewn on the back; this allows the piece to hang flat with a thin piece of wood through it which makes it easy to tack to the wall or hang on a curtain rod holder.

ART QUILT SIZES

Wall hangings are usually 2’-3’ square and lap quilts run 48”x60”. On special request, a larger quilt is possible with an additional cost for a longarm quilter.  Please contact Sandy for more information.
